Hi Johanne,
Your best bet would be to contact each school divisions’ Library Services
Coordinator or Students Services Coordinator to get a toe-hold in our systems –
the other place to contact might be the Ministry of Education to get it on the
“big” lists ?Access to each RC division’s contact info is on our website.
I’m just a curator of connections and flipper of bits and bytes. Hope you
are well in these strange times.
Thank you for
your expressed interest in doing business with the NYC Department of
Education. Below are the types of contracts that the Instructional
Material procurement office handles. Please review the below and contact
Lisette Cruz to try and become contracted with the DOE
Your best
point of contact for this inquiry would be our Curriculum and Instruction
department. I have copied them on this email so that they can respond to you
directly.
Thank you for
sharing the information about your book and website. I am going to
forward this on to our mental health staff to see if they would fine it to be
of use in our schools. Thanks again.
Thank you for
sending the information about your new book. Learning about and understanding
emotions are such an important part of development for children. I will
pass the book along to our Social and Emotional Learning department. Best of
luck to you!With gratitude,
Congratulations on
your book! That’s a big accomplishment and an exciting milestone. I have forwarded
your email to our Curriculum & Instruction department. As you may know, any
curriculum materials must go through an extensive review process before being
adopted so if there is interest in your book, it would follow that procedure.
I saw on your
blog that you are Canadian and recently had to do a 14-day quarantine. My son
is in Canada studying and the COVID-19 restrictions have made the travel
experience very challenging and expensive this year. Let’s hope we soon return
to a new normal! All the best,
Thank you for
your interest in submitting your book, Making Sense of Emotions, to the
evaluation process. From the description you have provided, I suspect
your book may have alignment with the Health curriculum. We are currently
working to evaluate resources in priority curricular areas set be the Ministry
which consist mostly of new or renewed curricula at the high school level, so
we are unable to accept your book into the evaluation process at this time. Had
Health at the lower grade levels been listed as a Ministry priority area, we
could have accepted it into the process.
All print
resources evaluated for the Ministry are catalogued in the STF’s Emma Stewart
Resources Centre. Given that we cannot enter your book into the evaluation
process at this time, I can offer to include it in our online catalogue for our
loaning library to educators in the province of Saskatchewan. If Health were to
be added as a priority area relatively soon after receiving your book, we could
include it in the process. If this offer interests you, please mail me a copy
at the Federation’s address located below.
