Greetings,
I spent two
days researching child psychologists and sending out e-mails to the major
cities in Canada and six days to the major cities in the United States. I was
unaware of how many child, teen and family psychologists were out there and the
different treatment methods used. I have advertised Making sense of Emotions as
a children’s educational/self-care book.
Here are some
of the responses I received, motivating me to continue my mission even more.
-Emails they
would share my link on their website or pass on my information to their
colleagues.
-One doctor
asked me for advice about publishing her manuscript and thanked me for my tips.
-Another
asked if I would be willing to speak with a group of 10 to 15 parents. Naturally,
I said yes!
-I received a
phone call from a psychologist who referred me to the British Columbia
Psychologists Association with their number and website information. I plan to
advertise through them soon.
-A doctor
offered to share sections of his publication, converting them into my next
children’s book.
-I have a
Zoom meeting scheduled next week with a Montreal political MNA, previously
President of the Quebec English School Board.
-The Minister
of Education for Newfoundland & Labrador responded: If deemed appropriate,
the department will share information about the publication with the school
districts, and follow up directly with you if your book is suitable for the
Newfoundland and Labrador curriculum.

– Congrats on
you new book. We will definitely take a look. Thanks for reaching out.
-I would be
lying without mentioning two return e-mails asking me to take them off my
mailing list (that I do not have). Perhaps uninterested, unimpressed or
threatened?
As you can
see, for the most part they were agreeable and encouraging.
Next
following weeks I tackle Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Ireland,
India, South Africa and the Caribbean Islands.
To be
continued…..
